Belmond welcomes Alex Dallocchio as Romazzino’s new GM

Belmond is pleased to announce the appointment of Alex Dallocchio as the new General Manager of Romazzino, A Belmond Hotel, Costa Smeralda. With over two decades of experience in the hospitality industry, Alex brings a wealth of expertise from his work in both European and North American markets.

In his new role, Alex will oversee the pre-opening strategy and lead the team in curating a new series of exceptional experiences as Romazzino prepares to reopen in 2024 under the Belmond brand.

Prior to joining Belmond, Alex served as the Chief Operating Officer of the Starhotels group in Florence, where he managed operations for 30 hotels with over 4,200 rooms across Italy, London, Paris, and New York. Before that, he held key operational positions such as Managing Director of the Westin London City and General Manager of the Beverly Hills Marriott, where he garnered extensive experience over six years.

Alex will report directly to Christian Boyens, Vice President and Divisional Leader of the Southern Europe division, in his new capacity

Scheduled for its grand opening in May 2024 as a distinguished Belmond Hotel nestled within the captivating landscapes of Costa Smeralda, Romazzino embodies the visionary creation of the Aga Khan in the 1960s. Crafted by renowned architect Michele Busiri Vici, the resort showcases an authentic Sardinian aesthetic characterized by whitewashed structures with graceful contours and arched windows.

Romazzino will present an exclusive collection of 100 guest rooms, including luxurious suites and villas, set amidst the scenic backdrop of two azure pools lining a private beach. Embracing the essence of villeggiatura lifestyle, guests will immerse themselves in a leisurely rhythm of life, indulging in unparalleled relaxation through wellness amenities, tailored land and sea excursions, and immersive artisanal experiences.

Culinary delights will be a focal point, with a variety of restaurants and bars offering an exquisite fusion of Sardinian flavors accentuated by the breathtaking vistas of the surroundings, enhancing the epicurean journey for every discerning palate.
