Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru has been recognized with the 2024 Airports Council International (ACI) Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Award for being the ‘Best Airport for Arrivals Worldwide.’ This is the third year in a row that the airport has earned this prestigious accolade, as announced in a press release from Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) on Monday, March 17. ACI World, a globally acknowledged program, assesses airports using passenger feedback, considering factors such as comfort, convenience, cleanliness, and service quality.

Passengers have frequently praised Bengaluru Airport for its efficient and smooth arrival process, which features expedited immigration and customs checks, quick baggage claim, fast Wi-Fi, and a seamless flow that ensures a stress-free arrival. The consistently positive feedback regarding the airport’s cleanliness has enhanced the overall experience, offering travelers added comfort and convenience.

  1. Opening in May 2008, Kempegowda Airport was established as a solution to the growing congestion at the old HAL Airport, the city’s first commercial airport. It is named after Kempe Gowda I, the founder of Bengaluru.
  2. Kempegowda Airport is Karnataka’s first airport to be fully powered by solar energy.
