British Airways set to recruit more cabin crew from spring 2022

British Airways has decided to recruit more cabin crew from spring 2022 after predicting a busy summer for holidays next year. The flag has carrier that it hopes to start recruiting from January, so they can take to the skies from March 2022. Crew who apply will be able to earn up to £28,000 per year along with a tax-free subsistence allowance.

The airline has also decided to waive its policy which requires crew to do six months at the airline before taking advantage of staff travel. Flight crew can opt for both short and long-haul routes, ranging from European hotspots to the more luxurious beach destinations such as Barbados.

The airline has also contacted former staffs who expressed an interest in returning and are also looking for other crew members to join to diversify their workplace. Sean Doyle, Chairman and CEO, British Airways said in a statement that after 18 long months of closed or restricted borders across the world, the airline is finally seeing a demand for travel return as countries start to open up and ease their restrictions. 

He mentioned that it would mean that the airline can finally get back to flying customers around the world. He said that authorities are excited to start welcoming brilliant new people and former colleagues back to the British Airways family. He also announced that everyone is welcome at British Airways as the airline has an opportunity to give people of all ages and backgrounds the chance to see the world and help shape the future of the airline. 

He concluded that the airline is aware that there are people looking for the first step in their career or a complete career change and the company will value the skills and experience they will bring to the role to help serve o customers. Applications are now open via the British Airways careers website and assessments will take place throughout November.
