From January 7, 2026, lounge access for travelers flying with Brussels Airlines at Brussels Airport will operate under a temporary revised arrangement as the airline prepares for a major renovation of its flagship THE LOFT lounge in the A-zone. The renovation is scheduled to run through the summer, with the renewed lounge expected to reopen by the end of summer 2026. During this period, alternative lounge facilities will be provided to maintain continuity for eligible passengers, although overall capacity will be reduced.
To accommodate travelers affected by the temporary closure, Brussels Airlines will introduce a Pop-up LOFT lounge while also modifying the operating schedule of its existing Sunrise Lounge. These changes are positioned as interim measures aimed at supporting premium travel services during the renovation phase, while managing space limitations within the airport’s A-zone.

As part of the interim plan, a Pop-up LOFT will open near gate A27 at Brussels Airport. The temporary lounge will begin operations on January 7, 2026, coinciding with the closure of the main THE LOFT lounge. The space will measure 200 square meters and will be able to host up to 67 guests at a time.
The Pop-up LOFT will follow the airline’s updated branding and is designed to provide a premium yet streamlined lounge experience. Access will be available daily between 05:00 and 21:00, covering most early morning and evening departures from the A-zone. Food and beverage offerings will be more limited compared to the primary lounge but will continue to include premium selections, with an emphasis on on-the-go options suited to travelers with limited dwell time before departure.

This temporary setup will function as a stopgap solution while renovation work progresses on THE LOFT, ensuring that eligible passengers continue to have access to lounge facilities during the transition period.

This extended schedule is intended to supplement the reduced capacity created by the closure of THE LOFT. The Sunrise Lounge will be able to accommodate up to 150 passengers, providing additional space for eligible travelers during the afternoon and evening hours. The adjusted timetable allows the lounge to serve travelers across a broader range of departure times, helping distribute demand more evenly between available facilities.
The combined operation of the Pop-up LOFT and the Sunrise Lounge is expected to form the backbone of Brussels Airlines’ lounge offering until the renovation project is completed.
Due to the overall reduction in lounge capacity during the renovation period, lounge access sales will be temporarily suspended. In addition, third-party guests will not be accepted until THE LOFT reopens. These measures are designed to prioritize access for eligible passengers while ensuring that available spaces are not overstretched.
The restrictions will remain in place throughout the renovation timeline and will be lifted once the renovated THE LOFT lounge resumes operations. Travelers planning to rely on paid lounge access or guest privileges are therefore advised to account for these limitations during the affected period.
The reopening of THE LOFT by the end of summer 2026 is expected to restore full lounge capacity and access policies at Brussels Airport for Brussels Airlines passengers.
