By 2025, an Indian company will be prepared to carry interested visitors to the space in a spaceship attached to a unique high-altitude balloon system.
Enthused by SpaceX, the Space Aura Aerospace Technology Pvt Ltd Company based in Mumbai has already started building a space capsule. It measures 10 feet x 8 feet and at a time, the capsule will have the capacity to carry six tourists besides the pilot into space.
At a science exhibition with the name ‘Akash Tatva’, the company presented a prototype of the space capsule named SKAP 1 there, which got positive response from scientists and common people at the same time.
Space Aura founder and CEO, Akash Porwal, told PTI that a target has been fixed by the company for kick-starting its flight into space.
In Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh, two places have been recognized from where the capsule into space can be launched, and in this regard, a decision will be made anytime soon, he said.
With the help of scientists from ISRO and TIFT, the aerospace company is currently busy trying to attain its target R, Porwal said.
All ready with modern amenities along with life saving and information systems, the space capsule will be pushed by a balloon filled with helium or hydrogen gas up to 30 to 35 kilometre above the sea level.
From there space tourists can see the curvature of earth.
