Through business collaboration between Destination BC, Destination Campbell River, 4VI and the Tourism Innovation Lab, a newly launched program has been introduced to provide a flicker and help ground-breaking ideas related to tourism in Campbell River.
The “Spark” Mentorships & Grants Program of Campbell River will match chosen applicants from the region with a tourism mentor, and offer a $3,000 grant and supplementary partner support to and take their innovative tourism related ideas to the next level in terms of development. The main target is to promote as well as find and help new ideas of tourism as well as experiences and collaborations that will increase present offerings, highlight the challenges, inspire travel and longer stays, and boost year-round visits.
From entrepreneurs, small business owners and NGOs, applications are encouraged, who are based in Campbell River, from February 22 to March 24, of this year. After an evaluation, to a virtual Pitch Session, five finalists will be invited where three winners will be shortlisted. To help the local entrepreneurs and possible applicants of the “Spark” Program, on March 10th, the City Economic Development Department is organizing Mark Stoiber. It would be a full-day workshop related to expanding ideas or brand stories, and designing the perfect pitch. On the “Tell me More” workshop, if one wants more information, please check out ecdev.campbellriver.ca/events.
