Cargo Airline association names Jennifer Thibodeau safety chief.

In her newly appointed role at CAA, Ms. Thibodeau will assume the crucial responsibility of leading safety and regulatory initiatives for the air cargo industry. This entails representing the sector before key U.S. federal agencies such as the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), and the Department of Transportation (DOT). Her mandate extends to collaborating closely with CAA members, working collectively to advance safety priorities within the industry.

Ms. Thibodeau’s role also involves safeguarding global access for air cargo operations. Beyond her regulatory duties, she will actively contribute to initiatives aimed at maintaining and enhancing the industry’s international presence, ensuring seamless global connectivity for air cargo services.

“After over two decades of service with the U.S. Department of Transportation, including working with multiple stakeholders on complex aviation issues, I am excited to join CAA in this new role,” said Jennifer Thibodeau. “I look forward to working with our members to help navigate future challenges in the regulatory realm that are of significant importance to the air cargo industry.”

Throughout her tenure at the Department of Transportation, Ms. Thibodeau collaborated closely with the Federal Aviation Administration, addressing a diverse array of safety concerns. Her role involved active partnerships with the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Aviation and International Affairs, working alongside industry stakeholders to navigate negotiations and address a broad spectrum of economic regulatory issues. She played a pivotal role in providing legal counsel for significant bilateral aviation agreements. Additionally, Ms. Thibodeau served as the international trade law coordinator in her office, actively participating in trade negotiations and leading efforts on issues such as specialty air services and cross-border motor carrier operations.

Ms. Thibodeau holds a B.A. in Government from the University of Texas at Austin and a J.D. from the College of William and Mary Marshall-Wythe School of Law.The Cargo Airline Association (CAA) is dedicated to championing the air cargo industry and actively works to endorse policies that uphold the safety, security, efficiency, and resilience of this critical component within the global supply chain.
