Carnival Cruise Firenze Launches First-at-Sea AR Kiosk for Effy Jewelry’s Latest Rings

Carnival Cruise Line and Effy Jewelry are gearing up to unveil groundbreaking technology aboard Carnival Firenze, slated for launch later this month. This innovation introduces an exciting new shopping experience for guests, offering a digital kiosk that grants access to over 100 rings from Effy’s latest designs.

This cutting-edge kiosk enables guests to peruse an extensive array of rings, allowing them to easily discover pieces that catch their eye. Moreover, guests can visualize how each ring will look on their hand in real time. By scanning an image of their hand, the kiosk utilizes augmented reality technology to virtually “try on” rings swiftly and effortlessly.

This pioneering feature will debut on Carnival Firenze before expanding to other ships in the fleet, ensuring that guests can enjoy this immersive shopping experience within Effy spaces across multiple vessels in the near future.

            “Showcasing Effy’s timeless pieces in this way, leveraging technology, creates a truly innovative and personal shopping experience for our guests. Our guests love Effy jewelry, and this new virtual component gives them the ability to quickly visualize how several perfectly sized pieces will look in a fraction of the time it might take to try on multiple items throughout the store. The kiosk puts beautiful designs right at their fingertips,” said Luis Terife, Carnival’s vice president of onboard guest commerce.

Carnival Firenze, the 27th ship in the fleet, made its debut from Long Beach, Calif., coinciding with the launch of the 27th Effy Jewelry store across the fleet. This marks the completion of a fleetwide expansion for both brands. Alongside new store installations, Carnival and Effy have collaborated on various enhancements throughout the fleet. Following a recent dry dock project, Carnival Vista returned to service last month with an expanded Effy store, promising guests a more luxurious in-store experience. Similar upgrades are in the pipeline for other ships. Moreover, Carnival and Effy have teamed up to create exclusive VIP cruises for diamond enthusiasts.

            “We are thrilled to launch our first digital kiosk on Carnival Firenze.  Our focus with this initiative was to create a fun interactive in-store experience that allow our customers to access product beyond the footprint of the store,” said Bobby Hematian, president of Effy Jewelry. “We are grateful to Carnival for the continuous support in cruise retail innovation. The Carnival Firenze, drawing inspiration from the stunning city of Florence, Italy, joins the Carnival fleet as its latest addition and the second ship to showcase Carnival Fun Italian Style. Starting April 25, 2024, it will embark on year-round voyages from Long Beach, traveling to beloved Mexican destinations and providing a range of itinerary options.
