Carnival Cruise Line Reveals Paradise Plaza and Calypso Lagoon at New Celebration Key Destination

Carnival Cruise Line has unveiled the details of Paradise Plaza and Calypso Lagoon, two of the five entry points at its upcoming Celebration Key™ cruise destination on Grand Bahama, scheduled to open in July 2025.

Just a brief stroll from the ship, Paradise Plaza offers a vibrant promenade adorned with a stunning sun-shaped arch, ideal for picturesque moments. Guests will be enveloped in the destination’s charm, serenaded by live music while the towering 10-story Suncastle captivates their anticipation for the paradise ahead. Wayfinding aids and destination guidance will assist guests in tailoring their day, presenting a plethora of activities suitable for all ages and interests – be it unwinding in a cabana, engaging in water sports, embarking on shore excursions, or simply basking in the breathtaking ocean vista from the mile-long pristine beach. A Bahamian-themed fountain and an ice cream parlor contribute to the inviting ambiance.

Meanwhile, for adults seeking a vibrant and social environment, Calypso Lagoon awaits to the west of Paradise Plaza. Sporting enthusiasts can partake in activities at the sports court, while those desiring a more relaxed ambiance can indulge in the expansive freshwater lagoon, the Caribbean’s largest*, and recline on numerous loungers, daybeds, or cabanas.

Adjacent to the lagoon, a distinctive bar equipped with nearly 50 swings offers a refreshing retreat for guests to savor poolside and Bahamian cocktails while relishing panoramic views. Several other bars scattered around Calypso Lagoon ensure everyone’s thirst is promptly quenched. Additionally, two dedicated full-service restaurants and various casual snack shacks are conveniently situated throughout the portal. The magnificent Bahamian beach provides a picturesque backdrop for sunbathing, swimming in the sparkling Caribbean waters, or partaking in sun-kissed activities.

A designated portion of Calypso Lagoon and the adjoining beach will be reserved exclusively for adults. Here, guests will discover a sizable swim-up bar accompanied by a DJ ensuring non-stop entertainment. Bahamian food trucks, cabanas, daybeds, and loungers will enhance the experience in this exclusive area.

Three additional portals have been unveiled, comprising a family-friendly gateway, a secluded sanctuary, and a retail district. Carnival intends to release additional information about these portals in the forthcoming months, alongside plans for a second phase of the destination, which will introduce new amenities beyond the initial five portals, such as a waterpark.

The inaugural guests of Celebration Key are scheduled to arrive in July 2025. Over 500 itineraries are presently available for purchase, offering visits to the new destination. Eighteen ships are slated to dock at Celebration Key from ten U.S. homeports until the spring of 2026.
