Carnival’s Sun Princess Makes First Caribbean Call in Nassau, Greeted by Local Leaders

Sun Princess, the newest Sphere-class vessel from Princess Cruises under Carnival Corporation & plc, made its inaugural Caribbean port call in Nassau, Bahamas on October 13, greeted by local leaders including Deputy Prime Minister Chester Cooper.

As the first LNG-powered ship in the Princess Cruises fleet, Sun Princess embodies Carnival Corporation’s dedication to sustainability. This next-generation ship features the signature Sphere Atrium, a suspended design offering expansive ocean views, bringing a unique indoor-outdoor ambiance to the central Piazza. At the ship’s pinnacle, The Dome, a glass-enclosed structure, enhances the relaxed lifestyle experience, blending indoor and outdoor living with sweeping ocean vistas.

Guests aboard were treated to a tour showcasing the vessel’s eco-friendly features, highlighting Princess Cruises’ commitment to sustainable cruising. From LNG fueling for immediate greenhouse gas reduction to minimizing single-use plastics, reducing food waste, and installing energy-saving technologies, the company continues to advance its environmental initiatives for a greener future.
