CCD bags Best Overseas Conference Venue award for 2021

The CCD has won the award for Best Overseas Conference Venue at this year’s M&IT Awards, which took place on Friday 08 October at Evolution London.



This followed the announcement, just minutes before, that Dublin Convention Bureau took Gold for Best Overseas Convention Bureau.

The M&IT Industry Awards recognise and reward excellence and are voted by UK based event organisers and the readers of Meetings & Incentive Travel magazine.

This is the ninth time the CCD has won Gold in this category, taking home Silver in 2011 and 2017. There was strong competition this year, with other international venues including Barcelona International Convention Centre, ICC Sydney and RAI Amsterdam also nominated in this category.

The Convention Centre Dublin was developed to provide a world-class conference venue in the heart of Ireland’s capital city.

Located just 15 minutes from the airport in Dublin’s Docklands, the finance and technology hub of the city, The CCD is ideally positioned to entice the international business tourism market.

Stephen Meehan, Chief Executive of The CCD, who attended the awards on the night, commented that it is great to see Dublin take home two awards with Dublin Convention Bureau also taking home Gold!

The CCD has hosted over 2,000 events and won 53 awards since opening.
