Following the success of this year’s 250th anniversary celebrations of Jane Austen’s birth, the collaboration will continue into December 2025, bringing the Regency era to life during the festive season, and again in Spring and Autumn 2026.
The Strictly Jane Austen programme will be hosting two immersive days of dance, literary discussions, and Yuletide cheer at The Gainsborough Bath Spa. These special events will take place on 4th and 5th December 2025, offering guests an enchanting opportunity to experience the charm and elegance of the Regency period. Starting at just £90 per person, attendees can participate in a Regency dance workshop led by Jane Austen expert Theresa Roche, enjoy a captivating lecture titled “An Austen Family Christmas” by renowned Austen scholar and author Dr Gabrielle Malcolm, and indulge in a Regency-inspired Afternoon Tea with fizz.

One of the standout experiences is a Regency embroidery workshop led by historian and needlewoman Alison Larkin, providing guests with hands-on knowledge of the period’s intricate needlework techniques.

One of the highlights of these experiences will be a guided visit to the Jane Austen House Museum in Chawton, Hampshire, where guests can walk through the rooms where Austen wrote some of her most famous works.
