Centara Hotels donates meal boxes in Thailand

Thailand’s leading hotel operator, Centara Hotels and Resorts, has recently donated nearly 1,500 food boxes to the Thai Government’s Public Relations Department. The donation is a part of its ongoing efforts to help communities and individuals most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The donated meals were prepared by a team of food and beverage staff at Centara’s flagship, Centara Grand at CentralWorld. Robert Maurer-Loeffler, General Manager, Centara Hotels and Resorts, presented the donation to Pichaya Muangnao, Deputy Director-General of the Government Public Relations Department. The meals were later distributed to individuals in need of help and support and harshl6y impacted by the pandemic.

Centara has committed to providing help to communities in a time when the coronavirus outbreak has taken populations across Thailand by storm. The hotel aimed to bring some immediate relief to Thai people and those in need in the time of the grave crisis through the donation.

The hotel has also launched the ‘Help the Heroes’ initiative provide direct help and benefit to healthcare workers and other vulnerable communities impacted by COVID-19. It has decided to add a further 50% value to the purchase when a consumer buys a Centara cash voucher for future use. The value of the voucher is being increased by 25% so that half of the value is given to the buyer and they can benefit more out of their next adventure when the pandemic is over and it is safe to travel again.

The remaining 25% will be used as a donation for those in need. Customers will be enabled to select their donation among the two charities Centara is associated with. The hotel is also providing complimentary hotel accommodation and meals to healthcare workers. The Centara Grand at CentralWorld has already begun providing hotel rooms for medical staff from the Police General Hospital so that they can save traveling time as well as return to work as refreshed and rejuvenated as possible.
