Challenges awaits new CTO CEO

In spite of rising visitor arrivals in various destinations, the countries in the Caribbean experience wide-spread challenges in terms of constant tourism growth, said the new secretary general of the Caribbean Tourism Organization, Dona Regis-Prosper.


While admitting the barriers, Regis-Prosper explained that the programs to grow advocacy among overseas tourism groups, help expanded regional rescue operation by aircraft, guarantee destination sustainability and expand extreme weather flexibility as priorities for a refurbished CTO.


While highlighting on Thursday at a Cayman Islands media briefing, Regis-Prosper said she is well-aware of the dangerous areas their members have recognized. After the discussions with the stakeholders of the industry, which she called her businesses first order, the new CTO head will summarize saying workable
solutions that will be helpful regionally as well as countrywide.


For any new efforts, Regis-Prosper did not offer a timeline but said CTO is all geared up to cooperating carefully with all of their members to grow the sector, identifying the challenges, CTO carries on grappling with in the post-pandemic age.


She also mentioned that she believes that in the power of the brand called Caribbean. Their beautiful Caribbean culture, sea, history and year-round amazing weather is great for tourism sector.
