Rested in the French Alps at the base of Mont Blanc, the famous town of Chamonix is dealing with global
warming by heartening tourism specialists to familiarize themselves with varying circumstances and endorse native ethos.

Chamonix is a wonderful destination when it comes to ountain and hilly traditions. Recognized universally for its glaciers and as the foundation of climbing, it was in this hamlet that in 1924, the first Winter Olympic Games were organized.

Nowadays, akin to all hilly resorts, “Cham,” as the residents call it, is dealing with the impacts of climate
change and its aftereffects. The Montenvers glacier, which is the chief attraction in the area, is melting at a
record swiftness and authorities are saying that the skiable zone will only be accessible for only 30 years at the maximum.

However, climate change is not something unknown for climbers.

Didier Tiberghien, the co-director of the  Compagnie des Guides de Chamonix said that when he began
functioning in the mountains over 25 years before, they already talked about these matters, much before these turned into media topics.

Tiberghien said that now they need to grow systematically and considerately, expecting the
unforeseen and acclimating increasingly.

Conserving the mountains and glaciers is a vital duty for Chamonix. All tourism investors, majority of who
are natives, are dedicated toward settling mountain survey with the protection of its environs.
