“Nihao China,” a tourism logo with a cartoon panda, was introduced last Thursday at a promotional event in Sydney, Australia, where local professionals also learnt about the most recent advancement in cashless payment in China.

The campaign, which was held at the China Cultural Center in Sydney, attracted more than 60 individuals from organizations involved in the tourism industry, including the China National Tourist Office, significant Chinese airlines and banks, and travel companies.

The tourismlogo, which included a fat cartoon panda, the vibrant lettering of “Nihao China,” and a traditional Chinese seal, was introduced in detail by Huang Jin, assistant director of the China National Tourist Office in Sydney.

“All these elements come together to form a logo and deliver a global message from China to the whole world that China is reopening and welcoming all friends from near and afar,” Xinhua News quoted Huang as saying.

Additionally, participants were able to stay abreast on several practical payment methods that are well-liked in China, such paying with a QR Code.

A business development manager at a travel agency in Sydney, Mark Haddad, told Xinhua that it was pleasant to see the new logo and to know that clients do not need to carry cash when in China.

“We’re finding future bookings are starting to pick up,” said Haddad. He added that a lot of people expressed their interest in looking for new experiences of different regions in China.

Haddad has spent more than 35 years working in the tourism sector and has noticed a rising interest among Australians to travel to China’s mountainous regions.

“Now they’re looking at places like Guilin, and they’re looking at the Yangtze River, the Pearl River Delta – all of the new areas that most people didn’t think of back in the old days,” he said.
