Ciclo At Four Seasons Hotel Austin Presents Viva Abejas: A Tribute to Bees

Ciclo at Four Seasons Hotel Austin is proud to announce the return of Viva Abejas (“long live bees”), a collaborative campaign with Chef Richard Sandoval highlighting the vital role of bees in our food cycle. Recognizing that one in every three bites of food depends on bees for pollination, the Hotel invites guests to savor a special bee-centric menu of food and drinks available through April 22, 2024.

Restaurant Specials and Highlights:

Throughout this month-long spring campaign, guests can enjoy dishes featuring local bee pollen, honey, and other bee-dependent ingredients. The menu includes cocktails like The Beekeeper, made with single malt whiskey infused with rosemary ginger and honey, as well as culinary delights such as coconut ceviche and duck confit tacos.

The Viva Abejas specials menu not only offers a delightful dining experience but also serves as an educational tool, providing resources for guests to learn more about bees and how they can support these essential pollinators even after the campaign ends. As a special takeaway, guests who order from the featured menu will receive a hang tag made from wildflower seeds, encouraging them to plant and help rejuvenate bee populations at home.

Education and Giving Back:

In addition to supporting The World Bee Project with a portion of the proceeds, the campaign aims to educate future generations about the importance of bees and inspire them to be catalysts for a more sustainable future. To kick off this initiative, the Hotel hosted a group of 30 first graders, giving them a firsthand look at sustainability practices and an enjoyable afternoon with Chef Richard Sandoval.

The students toured the Hotel’s kitchen with Executive Chef Elmar Prambs and engaged with the Hotel team. They also participated in a read-aloud and cooking class, where Chef Sandoval shared his first children’s book, Viva Abejas. To further support bee education, the Hotel has partnered with the elementary school to provide a classroom set of books and a sustainability curriculum with engaging activities.
