Grupo Abra and Aerolíneas Argentinas have widened their collaboration through a new bilateral codeshare that now includes Avianca. The previous arrangement had been limited to work between Grupo Abra and GOL, but the updated partnership broadens access for travelers moving between Colombia and Argentina. The revised structure strengthens direct travel links and supports smoother journeys across both networks. The extension also expands their interline cooperation, which now reaches additional destinations across the Caribbean, Central America, and South America. Regulatory approval is still required before full activation.

Broader Route Access for Travelers

The expanded codeshare covers nine Colombian cities and twelve Argentine cities within the existing networks. This wider scope gives travelers more coordinated route options without adding new locations. The core aim is to simplify movement between both countries through aligned operational processes. Travelers will be able to use single-ticket itineraries and experience unified check-in across connecting flights.

The agreement allows Avianca to place its code on services from Buenos Aires to Bariloche, Mendoza, Ushuaia, and Iguazú. These routes are already served by Aerolíneas Argentinas, but the added code improves booking simplicity for travelers beginning their trips in Colombia. Aerolíneas Argentinas will attach its code to Avianca flights from Bogotá to Medellín, Cartagena, Cali, and San Andrés. These routes are part of Avianca’s network and now form the Colombian side of the expanded codeshare.

The interline segment of the partnership has also been extended. It now spans thirty more destinations, creating streamlined travel through Caribbean, Central American, and South American points served within their combined networks.
