Colvile joins SkyTeam as chief executive

Kristin Colvile will join Sky Team as the  new chief executive and the appointment was confirmed during the alliance’s governing board composed of chief executives and chairman of the 20 member airlines.

The appointment was confirmed today at a meeting of the alliance’s governing board, which is composed of the chief executives and chairmen of the 20 member airlines.

Colvile holds more than 25 years’ of experience in the industry and will be joining the Sky Team from Delta.  Earlier she had held several roles in different division s of Delta Airlines and the Northwest Airlines post joining the company in 1993.

Kristin led Delta’s cargo enterprise through a highly successful multi-year transformation and the Michael Wisbrun, SkyTeam chairman was pleased to welcome Kristin onboard as SkyTeam’s new chief executive.

He stated that she joins the alliance during an important transitional phase and they were confident that Kristin’s extensive experience will help in building alliance of the future for 20 of the member airlines and their customers.

In her new position she will be assigned with the role of building significant investment that SkyTeam has made into developing industry-leading technology.

She will work on strengthening the tools needed to enhance seamlessness for all the members and  their customers.

Further, Perry Cantarutti, former chief executive and managing director of SkyTeam, will be returning to Delta Air Lines to take up the role of senior vice president of alliances.

Wisbrun thanked Perry for all the hard work over the last three years. We thank Perry for all his hard work over the last three years. He will bring many piviotal projects to completion that will keep on expanding under Kristins’ guidance.
