Cora Cora Maldives

Cora Cora Maldives is thrilled to announce its recent attainment of the prestigious Platinum label from the SHe Travel Club! This marks the second consecutive year that our five-star resort has achieved this esteemed recognition, making us the pioneer in the Maldives to attain Platinum status. Our resort has been officially recognized for its unwavering commitment to ensuring the comfort and safety of female guests, particularly solo travelers, as well as women traveling with friends and children.

Acknowledged as a haven where women can relax and feel secure during their stay, Cora Cora Maldives has earned praise from the SHe Travel Club, which advocates for the classification of hotels based on women’s unique needs and expectations. The club rigorously evaluates properties on criteria such as safety, services, comfort, and dining to ensure they meet the highest standards. By promoting gender equality in hospitality, the SHe Travel Club facilitates better communication and understanding between hotels/resorts and their female guests, thereby enhancing the overall customer experience and fostering a welcoming environment.

Despite women constituting 64% of global travelers, many feel their safety concerns are not adequately addressed by travel companies, with 8 out of 10 female travelers expressing dissatisfaction in this regard. Furthermore, statistics reveal that 73% of travel agents recognize women as being more inclined to travel solo compared to men. Traveling not only brings personal enjoyment but also fosters economic independence and facilitates boundary-pushing experiences, empowering women in multifaceted ways.

For Cora Cora Maldives, empowering women through hospitality is not merely a trend but a longstanding commitment. Our resort continuously seeks innovative ways to inspire women and young girls across the destination. In a significant stride toward gender inclusivity, we take pride in being the first in the Maldives to boast an all-female airport team and an all-female culinary team at our renowned Ginger MoonÒ Asian Restaurant. This extraordinary achievement underscores our dedication to challenging gender norms in a traditionally male-dominated industry.

“We are delighted that we are the first Maldivian resort to achieve the Platinum level of the SHe Travel Club,” commented Vishen Mootoo, Commercial Director.

“Providing a safe and inclusive environment for our guests is a top priority, particularly for female travellers. One of the main improvements was in comfort, which is extremely important for women travellers, whether alone or in a group. We are proud to be recognised as trailblazers in improving the travel experience for women and we look forward to continuing to ensure our guests feel safe and comfortable during their stay,” enthuses Vishen Mootoo, Commercial Director.

In pursuit of the esteemed certification, the SHe Travel Club conducts extensive research across multiple countries to grasp the desires and requirements of women during their travels. Operating under the mantra “SHe, Safe and Happy everywhere,” this independent and worldwide organization for hotel labeling ensures the satisfaction and safety of all women. Grounded in exclusive surveys conducted among 5,000 women across five nations, the recommendations of the SHe Travel Club provide a reassuring seal of approval, offering peace of mind and guaranteeing quality experiences away from home.
