Cruises will recommence in September on Suzhou Creek, the mother river of the city. It connects numerous cultural and tourist attractions.

Fang Shizhong, the director of the Shanghai Administration of Culture and Tourism, spoke about the city’s cultural and tourism growth plan after the pandemic in a radio program.

The route will link eight piers: Waitanyuan (the source of the Bund), Sihang Warehouse, which is the iconic “Tian An 1000 Trees,” Mengqing Garden, Zhongshan Park, Xikang Road, Danba Road and Changfeng Park.

Fang said that they plan to craft a ‘floating parlour on water’ by beginning this service. The cruises will mostly cater to group tourists initially and then open to individual travelers.

Fang said that the cruises will make easy for people to be thankful for the panorama along the creek and take a leisurely walk at various attractions onto land.

Based on research, there are 205 sites with enriching tourist importance along the creek.

The Sihang Warehouse Battle Memorial, Tian An 1000 Trees, the Fuxin Flour Mill, Zhapu Road Bridge and the earlier site of the Shanghai Brewery are on the list.

The cruise will let passengers not only value Shanghai’s charming scenery, but also take pleasure in its history, culture and art.

Digital coupons are being circulated in the city to improve the cultural and tourism industry. A three-year metaverse growth plan will be released shortly to assist tourism.
