Crystal Cruises Announces Major Refurbishment for Crystal Symphony in November 2025, Everything You Need to Know

Crystal Cruises has announced that its luxury vessel Crystal Symphony will undergo a comprehensive refurbishment in drydock from November 2025. This project spans three weeks focused on appreciation and technical enhancements that would elevate her experience for prospective guests. Crystal’s focus on suite redesigns and public space upgrades along with technical improvements shows the company’s commitment to maintaining a world-class cruise experience.

Suite Redesigns to Elevate Guest Comfort

As part of the refurbishment, the Aquamarine and Sapphire Classic suites on Deck 10 will be completely redesigned. These suites, which were last renovated during the Crystal Symphony’s 2023 transformation, will feature new furnishings, carpets and wall coverings. The De Wave Group, an acclaimed interior design firm from Genoa, Italy, will lead the redesign, ensuring that the suites reflect the luxury and elegance that Crystal Cruises is known for.

Public Spaces Receive Modern Touches

Key public spaces, including the Atrium and Crystal Cove, will also see significant updates. Under the guidance of Gerolamo Scorza, the ship’s interior designer, these areas will be reconfigured with a more modern and fluid layout. The removal of the existing water feature and the relocation of the piano will create a more open space. Guests can also look forward to a striking two-storey mosaic, crafted by DeCastelli and a new chandelier. The reception area will be upgraded with a new desk, backlit panel and refinished walls and columns, offering a fresh and inviting entrance to the ship.

On Deck 5, Crystal Cove will also receive an overhaul, with new high-end furniture and a redesigned front counter and backbar. These changes aim to enhance both the functionality and aesthetic of the space.

Upgraded Guest Areas and Starlite Club

On decks five and six the stair lobbies will be refreshed with upgraded ceiling systems and enhanced lighting and will receive new brass details. These improvements aim to enhance the guest experience on a more holistic level as they traverse the vessel. In the meantime, the Starlite Club will be redesigned with a new dance floor and a spectacular centerpiece on the ceiling, both designed by Trident Maritime Systems.

Technical Upgrades for Enhanced Performance

In addition to the aesthetic updates, Crystal Cruises will also complete a series of technical improvements. The ship’s fin stabilizers will undergo a complete hydraulic overhaul and new fuel and oil purifiers will be installed to accommodate biodiesel. The freshwater piping system will be modernized, while the galleys, cold rooms and provision areas will receive full renovations. Other technical work includes servicing generator auxiliaries and replacing specific steel components throughout the vessel.

Wellness Retreat Voyages and Crystal Symphony’s Return

After undergoing refurbishment, the Crystal Symphony will recommence service with the Crystal Symphony, integrating wellness retreat voyages, the ship’s second annual Wellness Retreat voyages. These voyages are specifically curated for relaxation, giving guests the Crystal Symphony’s refurbished lavish surroundings and upgraded services.
