Crystal Serenity Unveils Winter And Spring 2028 Voyages For Tourists In The Caribbean

Published on December 14, 2025

Starting with the sun-drenched Caribbean, through to the untamed rivers of the Amazon and finally to the whale-filled oceans of the Azores, Crystal Cruises has announced a Winter and Spring 2028 season that will change the face of luxury slow and immersive travel at sea. As per the information provided on the official Crystal Cruises site, bookings are already available for a meticulously selected set of itineraries on board the Crystal Serenity, operating from January to April 2028 and aimed at attracting those with the same interests as the ones mentioned above in the northern winter, warmth, culture and natural beauty.

The programme positions Crystal Serenity as both a refined retreat and a gateway to some of the world’s most compelling destinations, ending the season in Lisbon, where the ship will enter dry dock for scheduled enhancements before her next chapter.

A Caribbean Opening Designed for Unhurried Discovery

The season begins in Fort Lauderdale, with a collection of round-trip Caribbean sailings that set the tone for the months ahead. Rather than rushing between ports, these itineraries emphasise balance, generous sea days paired with extended time ashore, allowing guests to settle into the ship’s rhythm while exploring the region in depth.

Ports of call include the British Virgin Islands, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Mexico, Cartagena in Colombia, and Puerto Limón in Costa Rica. Crystal Cruises has indicated that shore programmes will focus on cultural immersion, guided exploration and encounters with tropical landscapes, appealing to travellers who value substance as much as scenery.

For winter-weary guests, the appeal is immediate: warm waters, historic cities, and the comfort of returning each evening to Crystal Serenity’s understated luxury.

Amazon River Expedition: A Rare Ocean-Liner Experience

The centrepiece of the season arrives in February with a 25-day Amazon River voyage, one of the most ambitious undertakings in Crystal Serenity’s deployment. Sailing deep into South America, the ship is scheduled to call at Manaus and a selection of smaller riverside communities, offering access to ecosystems and cultures seldom reached by large ocean-going vessels.

Crystal Cruises has suggested that this expedition is intended to deliver meaningful engagement with the Amazon’s biodiversity and human heritage, rather than a fleeting overview. For guests, it represents a chance to witness the rainforest from a unique perspective, combining the scale and comfort of an ocean liner with the intimacy of river exploration.

Select sailings can be combined with this journey to create an extended Caribbean Circle Grand Voyage, appealing to seasoned cruisers looking for a single, seamless adventure spanning multiple regions.

Spring Sailings Keep the Focus on Warm Waters

As winter gives way to spring, March itineraries continue to highlight Central America and the southern Caribbean. Scheduled calls include Cartagena, Roatán in Honduras and Belize, destinations known for their blend of history, coral reefs and rainforest interiors.

These voyages are positioned as ideal for travellers seeking variety without long-haul flights between trips, with Crystal Serenity serving as a consistent, familiar base throughout the season.

Transatlantic Finale to the Azores

In April, Crystal Serenity turns east, embarking on a transatlantic crossing that adds a cooler, more contemplative dimension to the programme. Before leaving the Americas, the ship will visit Puerto Rico, the Bahamas, Turks and Caicos, and the Dominican Republic, easing guests from tropical climates into open-ocean cruising.

The crossing is timed to coincide with the spring migration of several baleen whale species, with the Azores offering a natural crescendo to the season. Crystal Cruises has highlighted this timing as particularly appealing for nature-focused travellers, before Serenity concludes her journey in Lisbon.

A Look Ahead: Crystal Grace on the Horizon

Alongside the Serenity announcement, Crystal Cruises has also confirmed plans for a new ship, Crystal Grace, set to debut on 11 June 2028 from Rome. Following a Mediterranean summer, Grace will cross the Atlantic to New York, operate itineraries along the US Northeast and Canada, and then return to the Caribbean. Bookings are expected to open in April 2026, with early interest already being registered via a waiting list.

A Season Crafted for Curious, Comfort-Loving Travellers

Taken as a whole, Crystal Serenity’s Winter and Spring 2028 programme reflects a philosophy centred on paced travel, regional depth and the quiet pleasures of time well spent. For tourists and seasoned cruisers alike, the season offers more than an escape from winter, it provides a narrative journey linking the Caribbean’s warmth, the Amazon’s raw vitality and the Azores’ elemental beauty.

Through its official communications, Crystal Cruises has made it clear that this season is not merely about transporting passengers, but rather about inviting them to experience the destinations, unhurried, informed, and in comfort, thus creating lasting memories that would outlive the journey.
