David Taylor appointed Chief Operating Officer at Lore Group

David Taylor has been appointed as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Lore Group. The announcement was recently made by the company, shortly after CEO Billy Skelli-Cohen stepped down from his position. David comes with 25 years of experience in the hotel industry.


Lore Group is an international hospitality company operating in the United States and Europe. It independently designs, transforms, manages, and operates hotels in key cities within its Lore Collection portfolio. It also oversees properties created and managed by some of the leading brands in the hospitality industry. The new appointment comes as the company continues to grow its portfolio of thoughtfully designed hotels and hospitality concepts.


The company is based in London and New York and operates award-winning hotels across the globe, including Pulitzer Amsterdam, Sea Containers London, and its most recent addition, Riggs Washington DC opened in February 2020. David is an ideal candidate for the new role as he has helped some of the most creative operators in the hospitality business understand their vision over the years.


Prior to taking up his new role, he served as the Vice President of Operations for Intercontinental Hotels Group. He was responsible for looking after the Principal Hotels portfolio following their sale by Starwood Capital. He has also been at the forefront of some of the most exciting hospitality brands in the last two decades.


Under his leadership, the original Hoxton Hotel in Shoreditch witnessed its opening, launched the London EDITION in 2013 as well as won numerous awards including the Catey Hotel of the Year award. For the last two years, he has also served as a Trustee at The Savoy Educational Trust – an independent trust to advance education, learning, and skills in the hospitality industry.


In 2018, David was awarded the prestigious title of Hotelier of the Year by The Caterer magazine. He is an experienced and celebrated hotelier. He is passionate about the people he works with. His commitment to training and developing hospitality professionals would inevitably be a great addition to Lore Group.
