Delta Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing at Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport

On Saturday evening, a Delta Air Lines aircraft was forced to execute an emergency descent and land at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. A representative for Delta explained that the journey, designated as flight 1736 and en route from Denver to Minneapolis, decreased its altitude as a precautionary measure to assess a suspected mechanical problem.

The aircraft, a Boeing 737, touched down securely at the airport, arriving 13 minutes ahead of its anticipated time, as reported by FlightAware.com.

This event joins a series of recent occurrences involving Boeing aircraft, such as the emergency landing in January of an Alaska Airlines plane when a panel from a 737’s door became detached during the flight shortly after leaving Portland.

In a related development, Boeing’s CEO Dave Calhoun announced his resignation, set to occur later this year, on Monday.

The incident of the emergency landing follows another mishap involving two Delta aircraft that made contact with each other on the taxiway two days prior, fortunately without resulting in any injuries during the minor collision.
