Delta Air Lines boosts its fleet with Airbus A350-1000s, elevating efficiency and comfort. The order of 20 new aircraft marks a significant expansion.

Delta Air Lines has selected Airbus for its latest expansion of efficient, modern widebodies, initiating this partnership with a purchase of 20 A350-1000 jets. This model will be a novel addition to Delta’s fleet.

Expressing gratitude for Delta’s trust in Airbus, Christian Scherer, the CEO of Airbus’ Commercial Aircraft division, remarked, “Delta’s pioneering role in utilizing the A350-900 in the U.S. market has been immensely successful. The introduction of the A350-1000 marks a new phase, enhancing the airline’s capabilities and benefit global passengers. We are honored that our aircraft are a key component of Delta’s extensive international network, contributing to advanced fleet efficiency.”

Delta’s CEO, Ed Bastian, highlighted the significance of the A350-1000, saying, “This aircraft, the most advanced and capable in our fleet, marks a crucial development in our global outreach. It aligns with our fleet strategy and promises an enhanced world travel experience with more premium seating, top-tier amenities, and increased cargo capacity.”

Delta operates an extensive Airbus fleet, spanning from the A220 to the A350-900, totaling over 450 aircraft, with an additional 200+ orders pending.

With the A350-1000, Delta anticipates gains in operational efficiency, leading to lower fuel consumption, emissions, and maintenance costs. Passengers can look forward to the Airbus Airspace cabin, offering a serene, spacious environment with wider seats, high ceilings, and ambient lighting that mitigates fatigue and jet-lag on lengthy flights.

The A350 stands as the epitome of modern, efficient widebody aircraft, leading the 300-410 seat segment. It excels across a range of sectors, from short to ultra-long-haul routes, reaching up to 9,700nm. Its innovative design incorporates cutting-edge technologies, aerodynamics, lightweight materials, and the latest engine models. These features collectively result in a 25% improvement in fuel efficiency, operational costs, and CO₂ emissions, plus a 50% reduction in noise compared to previous generation competitor planes.

The A350 boasts over 1,206 orders from 58 global customers, underlining its acclaim and preference in the global aviation industry.
