Delta’s commitment to prioritizing its people shines through once again as it secures a place on Fortune’s prestigious 100 Best Companies to Work For® list for the fifth consecutive year. Remarkably, Delta stands as the sole airline honored on the 2024 roster.

The selection process, facilitated by Great Place To Work, a renowned authority on workplace culture, underscores the significance of employee feedback. This feedback, instrumental in identifying employers fostering exceptional company cultures, was pivotal in Delta’s recognition. Insights gleaned from Delta’s Great Place to Work page underscore the vital role employee input played in achieving this esteemed acknowledgment.

“Delta people fuel our success and are the reason we are the most-awarded airline,” said CEO Ed Bastian. “This recognition is a testament to what we can achieve by listening and working as a team to continuously improve the workplace experience for all 100,000 Delta people.”

Delta’s steadfast dedication to its workforce is evident in its robust investment in employee well-being across various domains—financial, emotional, physical, and social. Notable initiatives include the distribution of $1.4 billion in profit sharing earlier this year, alongside the Shared Rewards program incentivizing operational excellence. Moreover, the Emergency Savings Program fortifies financial security, while partnerships with Spring Health, Maven, and Progyny extend comprehensive support encompassing mental health, family building, and fertility benefits.

Embracing an inclusive approach to career advancement, Delta has discarded college degree requirements, ensuring equitable growth opportunities based on skills rather than formal education.

“Delta’s culture of care starts with our people,” said E.V.P. and Chief People Officer Joanne Smith. “When we take care of our people, they extend that care to our customers, who become loyal to Delta, which takes care of the company and Delta’s shareholders. It’s the virtuous circle in action that helps us keep climbing.”

The GPTW Trust Index Survey, conducted among approximately 25,000 U.S.-based Delta employees, offers a comprehensive evaluation of Delta’s strengths and areas for improvement. This external assessment, in conjunction with internal surveys, fuels Delta’s ongoing efforts to enhance the employee experience continually.

Delta’s unwavering commitment to excellence extends beyond workplace culture, garnering accolades across diverse domains including operational performance, customer experience, and innovation. Noteworthy recognitions include repeated appearances on Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies list, an impressive No. 11 ranking on Fortune’s World’s Most Admired Companies list, and top placement on Forbes Customer Experience All-Stars list. Additionally, Delta’s enduring distinction as the preferred airline among travel professionals for thirteen consecutive years underscores its unwavering commitment to excellence.
