A tourism head in Devon and Cornwall has said that the segment is witnessing a ‘mixed picture’ before the summer.

Alistair Handyside, the chairman of South West Tourism Alliance said that reservations declined
compared to the years before; however, attractions, restaurants and cafes look to be looking up.

Mr. Handyside said that industries would require working actually hard to surge bookings.

Some trades in Mevagissey, Cornwall, said that customers are now more careful with their money.

Mr. Handyside said that the charge of living crunch is still lingering on the minds of the majority of folks.
He said that the first thing to thank is the weather in the last few days, and nothing lifts last-minute
reservations like congenial weather.

Overall, the condition is diverse – lodging has declined, but attractions, restaurants and cafes are appearing better.

Mr. Handyside said that Devon and Cornwall is looking not better or worse compared to other tourism
attractions in the UK. Market sureness is soft paralleled to the year before.
