Marking its golden jubilee, the Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH) has announced the launch of its first-ever Tourism Fair, aimed at revitalizing domestic travel within Malaysia. This pioneering event is set to create a unique space for direct interaction between the travel industry’s service providers and the Malaysian public, fostering a renewed interest in local tourism offerings. This initiative represents a significant opportunity for both local and international tourism businesses to engage with a wider audience, showcasing the diverse and rich travel experiences Malaysia has to offer.

Encouraging Local Exploration with Exclusive Offers

At the heart of this event, over 2,500 room vouchers will be up for grabs for attendees making purchases, presenting an ideal opportunity for travelers to experience luxury stays at more accessible prices. Dato’ Khoo Boo Lim, MAH’s Vice President and the fair’s Organising Chairman, highlighted the recent perception challenges facing Malaysia’s hotel industry and expressed the fair’s objective to counter these by making luxury accommodation more attainable for locals. This approach is anticipated to stimulate domestic travel, encouraging Malaysians to explore the beauty and diversity of their own country, thereby benefiting local tourism and hospitality businesses.

A Gathering of Tourism and Hospitality Leaders

The launch and press meet for the event, held at the Grand Dorsett Subang, brought together key figures from the tourism and hospitality sector, including Mr. Amin Yahya from Tourism Malaysia and YB Nicole Tan Lee Koon, among others. The MAH Tourism Fair, in collaboration with TIN Media, will offer an extensive range of exhibits from the hospitality industry, including attractive hotel deals, dining experiences, travel packages, spa treatments, and wedding services. This event promises to be an essential destination for those looking to enhance their travel plans with exceptional offerings.

Scheduled for July 6th and 7th, the fair will take place at Pavilion Bukit Jalil, Exhibition Centre in Kuala Lumpur, from 10 AM to 9 PM. Admission is free, inviting the public to explore and discover the myriad travel opportunities within Malaysia.
