Spain and Morocco: Beginning the Journey

After leaving Italy, Artania headed to Málaga in southern Spain. Málaga is beautiful and has lots of culture, so it was just the first of many exciting stops. Then, the cruise went to Agadir in Morocco, with a taste of the exotic and a warm welcome. Further along, the ship docked in the islands of Arrecife, Lanzarote, and Tenerife in the Canary Islands. These islands are known for their beautiful, and sometimes volcanic, coastal and charming towns, which give a beautiful first taste of the adventure to come.

Before crossing the Atlantic, Artania went to the Cape Verde islands, visiting Sal, Mindelo, and Porto Novo. These islands, with their colonial architecture, gorgeous beaches, and a rich culture in music, gave the passengers the chance to experience a mix of European and African influences in the beautiful tropics.

The Caribbean Journey: An Area with Attractive Islands and a Rich History

The next part of the journey was crossing the Atlantic Ocean to enter the Caribbean. The ship had lots of options for stopping to explore several islands with diverse cultures, histories, and ecosystems. Guests had the opportunity to visit Antigua, St. Kitts, Guadeloupe, Dominica, Martinique, St. Lucia, Barbados, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Grenada, and Tobago.

All of these islands were full of fascinating history and natural wonders. For example, St. Kitts and Antigua had colonial history and grand local cultures. St. Lucia and Barbados had gorgeous beaches, steep volcanic mountains, and rainforest. Grenada and Tobago were off the beaten path, with lovely little beaches and local cultures.

The travels to South America: Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay.

We just ended an exciting segment on the cruise with a series of stops in the Caribbean. Our first stop in South America will be the coast of Brazil. We will stop in the following cities: Fortaleza, Recife, Salvador, Ilheus, and then Buzios. Each of these major coastal cities has its own unique blend of rich colonial history, other cultures, and lively modern life.

After the coast of Brazil, we travel to French Guiana and then Argentina. French Guiana is home to the capital city of Cayenne, and then we travel to the sites of vibrant cultures in Guyana and Argentina. In Argentina, we will be stopping in Buenos Aires, Puerto Madryn, and Ushuaia, which just so happens to be the southernmost city of the entire world! We will also get to see the beautiful coastline of Argentina from the cruise.

Highlights of South America: Brazil and Beyond

A major highlight of the cruise is spending 3 days in Rio de Janeiro. As well as Christ the Redeemer and special Copacabana Beach, Rio is home to an incredibly vibrant and exciting culture. The cruise will continue to Punta del Este and Montevideo in Uruguay. Another highlight is South America, where the cruise’s visit to Buenos Aires, the tango and street performer capital, features elegant street architecture from Europe. Argentina’s southernmost city of Ushuaia is the gateway to Patagonia and the Beagle Channel, home to some of the world’s most stunning and least traveled areas.

Chile, Peru, and Ecuador: The Pacific and Beyond

The Artania will travel to South America and will now begin its journey towards Chile. The destinations include Puerto Montt, Puerto Williams, Castro, San Antonio, and Iquique. All of these ports have some of the best landscapes, mountains, and coastlines. After spending time in Chile, the boat will continue to Peru and Ecuador, where travelers will be able to see the beautiful heritage of the Andes and the Amazon basin.

Before crossing the Panama Canal, the ship will have a few more stops in the area so that the guests can see all of the wonders of South America.

North America: Final Leg of the Journey

With the end of the epic crossing quickly approaching, the Artania will dock at several North American tourist hotspots. These include Nassau (Bahamas), Fort Lauderdale and Miami (Florida), Charleston, Baltimore, and Norfolk. The crossing will culminate with a two-night stay in New York City, where travelers may take in the sights and sounds of the Big Apple. The Artania will start its return journey to Europe, with more than a week of sailing to the Azores and England, arriving in Bremerhaven, Germany, on May 12, 2026.
