Recently, the Department of Tourism congregated the stakeholders who represent hotels, tourist transport providers and tour operators, promising them that no one will be left behind in its tracking down tourism’s digitalizing.
During a conversation with stakeholders on 13 th June, the DOT made the above statement mainly to manage the Grab Tours Project. This project was piloted last 6 to 12 June.
Grab Tours is all prepared to make people embrace the tourism value chain by offering the right of entry to its all-in-one technology platform that offers food deliveries, mobility, financial services and other everyday services.
Atty. Mae Elaine Bathan, DOT Undersecretary, said that through this joint venture with Grab, they hope their micro, small, and medium enterprises get absorbed into digital transformation, which makes up the maximum of their tourism value chain. They are also interested to put premium on their accredited tourism-related enterprises, whose spirit and hard work have kept their sector floating in the last two years of covid, quoting Christina Garcia Frasco, the Tourism Secretary.
The undersecretary highlighted the objective of Tourism Chief to leave not a soul at the back when it comes to digitalizing the tourism value chain.
Through this digital advancement, they will also attempt to authorize the tour guiding sector of their country, who we very much considered as the foundation of strength in terms of their tourism.
