The tourism industry of Dubai is observing a thriving 2023 first half after they welcomed a record 8.55 million foreign visitors for overnight stays.

Since 2019, this has been the best tourism first-half performance for emirates which had witnessed 8.36 million tourists in the first half of the year, as per the report of WAM, a state news agency.

Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism has unveiled the tourism numbers and had said that the performance is a 20 per cent annual growth in visitation.

The tourism numbers underline the position of Dubai as the fastest reviving destination internationally, and far surpasses the prediction made by the United Nations World Trade Organisation that tourist arrivals from abroad has a chance to reach between 80-95 percent of the levels of pre- pandemic times this year, noted DET.

The Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who is also the Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, said that the extraordinary rise in visitors from overseas witnessed by Dubai in the first half of 2023 additionally explains its surfacing as one of the brightest spots not only in world tourism but also in the broader global financial background.

This achievement has been made possible by the prudence of the leadership of Dubai.
