Dubai to pull 40 mln new hotel guests

By as early as 2031, Dubai tourism is all set to roar in the middle of plans to draw 40 million new hotel visitors.


Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, His Highness, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has recently declared about the new national strategy.


He said that they are among the world’s top 10 tourist destinations and their goal is to speed up their competitiveness by drawing Dhs100billion in additional tourism investments to this crucial industry and by 2031, receiving 40 million hotel guests.


HH Sheikh Mohammed gave tremendous importance to tourism’s significance on the UAE economy and is quite positive that the new plan will see the contribution of tourism to the rise of GDP to Dhs450billion in general.


If that is to be attained, the contribution of tourism must rise by Dhs27billion on a yearly basis.


As per the plan, to support tourism, 25 initiatives and policies will be introduced. Also, in the travel, aviation and hospitality sectors, investment will be encouraged with the expectation of drawing foreign companies.


HH Sheikh Mohammed said that tourism is a vital part of expanding their national economy and a central tributary to consolidating their global competitiveness.


In the first quarter of this year alone, he said that their airports received 22 million passengers. Their aim is that the contribution of tourism sector will be Dh450bn of their GDP in 2031.
