Dubai tourism back on track

In the first half of 2023, the tourism industry of Dubai has attained a major milestone by greeting 8.55 million overnight visitors from abroad, exceeding the levels of pre-pandemic times of 8.36 million recorded in 2019 first half.   


This shows the strongest first-half performance of the city in its entire history, the WAM, Emirates News Agency, reported the same citing data from the Department of Economy and Tourism of Dubai.


In the first half of 2023, the city attained a 20 percent annual growth in regard to visitor numbers. This additionally combines the aspiration of emirates under the Dubai Economic Agenda 2033, to position among the top three cities of the world.   


For the city, the program has sketched out a new route to additionally merge its status as one of the top urban economies and tourism destinations of the world. Besides, it affirms once again about the position
of emirates as the fastest-reviving destination internationally.


In the first half of the year, the record performance also exceeds the global projection of the UN World Trade Organization of 80 to 95 percent recuperation to the levels of pre-pandemic times for international tourist arrivals this year.


This outstanding rise of Dubai gave the city a brightest spot, said the crown prince.
