Dubai city has done it again; it has become a global winter playground again, the thirty-first edition of the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) that started on 5 December 2025, inviting and accommodating tourists, families and shoppers with open arms from every corner of the world. The festival, which is run by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE) under the supervision of Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), is going to be up until 11 January 2026 giving a whole month of retail deals, cultural celebrations, entertainment and immersive experiences in the UAE.
In effect, DSF has become far more than a shopping sale, it is now a powerful draw for global visitors, enriching Dubai’s tourism and hospitality landscape with vibrant events and unforgettable experiences.

The festival launches with a bang: a sensational opening weekend of concerts and festivities. Among the first major draws is an electrifying performance by international icon Nora Fatehi on 6 December 2025 at the waterfront Festival Bay in Dubai Festival City Mall. The evening will be crowned by fireworks at 8:30 pm, a celebration aimed at setting the tone for a season of glamour and cultural vibrancy.
As part of the e& DSF Nights series, visitors can also enjoy interactive zones, waterfront attractions and free public installations, designed to create an inclusive and enchanting atmosphere for all age groups.

A headline attraction this year is the all-new Drone and Pyro Show, one of the most ambitious visual displays in DSF history. Over 1,000 drones, including 100 pyro-equipped drones, will soar in synchronised formations across the night sky in two nightly displays. Accompanied by a specially composed soundtrack inspired by Dubai (reportedly by the acclaimed composer Hans Zimmer), the shows promise to transform the skyline into a magical tapestry of light, sound and storytelling.
These stunning aerial spectacles are expected to be a major draw for international travel, offering travellers a uniquely Dubai experience that blends technology, art and urban grandeur under the desert sky.

For those seeking a retreat from the urban buzz, the festival extends to the mountains at Hatta Wadi Hub. Back for its second year under DSF, Hatta offers a different flavour: candlelight concerts by Fever set against the Hatta mountain backdrop, serene open-air ambience, and a Dinner in the Sky experience that lifts diners 50 metres above ground for a scenic meal amid nature.
Additionally, families and movie-lovers can enjoy evenings at the outdoor Roxy Dome Cinema, offering a blend of culture, landscape and cinema under the stars.
At its core, DSF remains a retail powerhouse. This year over 1,000 brands and some 3,500 stores across Dubai are taking part, offering massive discounts, exclusive releases, limited-time sales, pop-ups by homegrown labels alongside global brands.
An irresistible incentive for shoppers: the DSF Mega Raffle, participants have a daily chance to win a brand-new car (a Nissan) and AED 100,000 in cash, culminating in a grand jackpot of AED 400,000 on the final day of the festival.
Food and culture are intrinsic to DSF’s appeal. The festival’s gastronomic palette encompasses gourmet dining, pop-up street food markets, chef-driven experiences, open-air night markets and artisanal food ventures, offering visitors a taste of Dubai’s cosmopolitan culinary identity.
Meanwhile, festival hubs like the revived MOTB (Market Outside The Box) transform into open-air cultural spaces filled with live music, trendy retail concepts (including homegrown designers), food vendors, street art and social gatherings, especially popular with younger travellers and urban explorers.
For a city already renowned for its glitz, glamour and global connectivity, the 31st DSF offers a timely boost to Dubai’s tourism and hospitality sectors, especially in the cooler winter months when global travellers look for festive escapes.
Moreover, the festival’s mix of retail, entertainment, culture and outdoor escapades (city life + mountains) broadens Dubai’s appeal, engaging not only shopping tourists, but families, adventure seekers, culture lovers and experience-driven travellers.
By combining high-spend retail visitors with immersive entertainment and hospitality spending, DSF acts as a catalyst for economic growth, across sectors. The all-inclusive festival calendar makes Dubai an attractive winter-season destination for regional and international travellers. Over 38 days, every part of the city becomes alive with possibility, perfect for travel journalists, holiday planners and anyone seeking a vibrant winter break.
As the 31st Dubai Shopping Festival unfolds, Dubai once again proves it is not just a city of malls and luxury, but a playground of experiences, a melting pot of culture, and a canvas for creativity. The city’s transformation into a 38-day festival zone shows how a well-orchestrated event can spark tourism, hospitality, retail and global interest all at once.
