Egypt Tourism Rises to Nineteen Million Visitors, Driven by Twenty Growth in Arrivals and Strong Demand from the U.S. as a Key Source Market

Egypt has raised its new tourism target for 2025, hoping to attract almost 19 million tourists against a backdrop of a remarkable 20 percent growth in arrivals. The Egyptian government reported an astonishingly strong 21 percent jump in tourist arrivals, with 15 million visitors arriving in the first nine months of 2025, compared with last year. That puts Egypt well on track to top its previous 18-million-visitor target for the year.

During his recent visit to the United States, Sherif Fathy, Egypt’s Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, had numerous meetings with various leading travel media as part of his effort toward increasing the country’s tourism. Part of his schedule in America was for an annual conference of the US Tour Operators Association in Maryland between December 2 and 6, to raise Egypt’s profile in one of its fastest-growing source markets.
