Indulge in the culinary genius of Chef Nilza Wangmo as she unveils her unmatched expertise in Ladakhi cuisine during the five-day ‘Leh Ladakh Food Trails’ pop-up at Stix, the acclaimed restaurant at Hyatt Regency Chennai. Chef Nilza, renowned for her successful culinary ventures nationwide, is now bringing her talents to Chennai.

Teaming up with Chef Manish Uniyal, Executive Chef at Hyatt Regency Chennai, Chef Nilza has meticulously curated an exclusive and authentic menu for the pop-up running from March 6th to March 10th, 2024. This culinary extravaganza promises to showcase the rich heritage of Ladakhi cuisine through interactive live cooking sessions led by Chef Nilza and her skilled culinary team at Stix, utilizing traditional ingredients and cooking methods.

Speaking about her journey, Chef Nilza Wangmo, said “This is the food I cook for my
family and loved ones. Recipes that have been one with nature, using seasonal
ingredients and sustainable cooking techniques I feel privileged to be able to showcase
the rich culinary fabric of Ladakh to Chennai which has such an eclectic food scene”.

Chef Manish Uniyal, Executive Chef at Hyatt Regency Chennai, added, “We strive to
bring a fresh dining experience to our guests every few months through our food festivals
and pop ups. We work on curating versatile and authentic menus that celebrate cuisines
of different cultures from across the globe. It is a testament to our commitment and
strength in introducing new food and beverage experiences to our guests.”

The initiative to bring this five-day pop-up to Chennai stems from the collaboration between Yogita Uchil, a well-known food enthusiast and entrepreneur, and Hyatt Regency Chennai.

Chef Nilza Wangmo, recipient of the prestigious Nari Shakti Puraskar awarded by the President of India in 2019, is the proud owner of Alchi Kitchen, an all-women restaurant in Ladakh. Since its establishment in 2016, Alchi Kitchen has become a beloved destination for authentic Ladakhi cuisine, nestled in the serene ambiance near a thousand-year-old monastery. With its popularity soaring, Alchi Kitchen has expanded to include a branch in Leh.

Expect to savor authentic delicacies such as Mok Mok, Stuffed Kambhir, Chutagi, Ladakhi Butter Tea, and an array of other hearty creations inspired by the Himalayan trails during this memorable pop-up experience.
