Emirates and AC Milan Collaborate for Spectacular Art Display in Dubai

During the 2024 Dubai World Cup at Meydan Racecourse on March 30, Emirates and AC Milan showcased a unique art piece crafted by renowned regional artist Kareemgraphy. This bespoke installation, conceived to celebrate the fusion of sports, culture, and art, was revealed to spectators.

Designed exclusively for the occasion by calligraffiti artist Abdul Kareem, also known as Kareemgraphy, the innovative artwork took the form of a horse composed of 187 jerseys representing AC Milan’s Home, Away, Third, and goalkeeper kits, artistically arranged. Spanning 8 x 8 meters, the captivating display adorned the lawn beside the parade ring, enchanting Dubai World Cup attendees in the Grandstand with a mesmerizing blend of sports, culture, and artistry.

The Dubai World Cup, conceived by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, stands as the apex of the UAE’s horse racing season. AC Milan’s involvement marked a significant milestone as the club’s inaugural participation in Emirates’ horse racing events, reinforcing their enduring partnership established in 2007.

Notable figures present at the event included AC Milan CEO Giorgio Furlani, RedBird Capital’s Operating Partner and AC Milan Senior Advisor Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and AC Milan’s Chief Commercial Officer Maikel Oettle.

AC Milan’s Chief Commercial Officer Maikel Oettle expressed his admiration for the art installation:

This art installation beautifully celebrates the intersection of sports and diverse cultures, bringing together football and horse racing. It speaks volumes about the Club’s innovative nature and its expanding presence beyond pure football.”

As one of the top 10 clubs in the MEA (Middle East and Africa) region boasting over 35 million supporters globally, including 2.5 million in the UAE alone, AC Milan established Casa Milan Dubai as its regional headquarters toward the end of the previous year. This strategic move aligns with the Club’s broader global expansion strategy under RedBird Capital, further demonstrating AC Milan’s commitment to the flourishing market in the Middle East.
