Emirates has announced that it will expand its services to Tokyo Narita, Japan, by introducing a second daily flight starting on 1 May 2026. The new service will establish better travel connections between Dubai and Tokyo Narita by providing passengers with additional flight options throughout the day.
The second daily flight (EK320) will depart from Dubai at 22:30 local time, arriving in Tokyo Narita at 13:30 local time the following day. For the return journey, flight EK321 will depart from Tokyo Narita at 21:30, arriving in Dubai at 03:50 the next morning. This new timing improves the overall travel experience for both eastbound and westbound travellers.
The additional flight provides more than just a convenient schedule; it opens up multi-destination itineraries for passengers. Those flying eastbound from Dubai will arrive in Tokyo Narita in the afternoon, allowing for smoother connections within Japan and nearby destinations. Passengers heading westbound from Tokyo Narita will enjoy an early morning arrival in Dubai, which facilitates seamless connections to destinations across Europe, Africa, and South America, including popular cities like Madrid, Paris, Cape Town, and São Paulo. This added flexibility is expected to attract business travellers, tourists, and those seeking stopover opportunities in Dubai.
The new service to Tokyo Narita will be operated using one of Emirates’ retrofitted Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. The aircraft features modern interiors across four classes, including Economy, Premium Economy, Business, and First Class. Passengers will enjoy a luxurious travel experience with a total of 260 Economy seats, 24 Premium Economy seats, and 40 Business Class seats in a 1-2-1 configuration. The eight First Class suites provide privacy and comfort with fully enclosed suites, making long-haul travel even more enjoyable.

In addition to the upgraded seating, passengers will be treated to a selection of Japanese-inspired cuisine, including a Kaiseki meal tray designed to bring an authentic taste of Japan onboard. Emirates’ world-renowned inflight entertainment system, ice, will feature over 6,500 channels of content, including a range of Japanese movies, TV shows, and documentaries. This makes the Tokyo Narita route a comfortable and enjoyable experience for all passengers.
Emirates has been operating in Japan since 2002 and currently offers three daily flights across major cities including Tokyo Narita, Tokyo Haneda, and Osaka. With the addition of the second daily service to Tokyo Narita, the airline is set to offer more than 22,500 weekly seats across 28 flights per week to and from Japan. This expansion underscores Emirates’ commitment to providing increased travel options for passengers while also supporting the growing demand for air travel between Japan and the Middle East.

The airline also continues to strengthen its relationship with local partners such as Japan Airlines (JAL) and All Nippon Airways (ANA), offering seamless connections to 36 destinations across Japan and the wider Asia-Pacific region. These partnerships make it easier for travellers to access remote destinations and improve connectivity within the Asia-Pacific market.
Emirates’ expansion into Japan also includes an increase in its cargo capacity. With the additional flight service, the airline will be able to carry 1,240 tonnes of cargo weekly, connecting Japan’s businesses to key markets in the Gulf, Europe, and Africa. This will support the growing trade volumes between Japan and the Middle East, strengthening economic ties and helping businesses in both regions reach new markets.
Passengers flying with Emirates on the new service to Tokyo Narita will also have the option to explore Dubai on a stopover. The airline has made stopover packages available, offering passengers the chance to spend a few days in Dubai and explore its world-class attractions. With access to iconic sites like the Burj Khalifa, Palm Jumeirah, and the Dubai Mall, visitors can experience the best of this modern, cosmopolitan city before continuing their journey.
Emirates’ new second daily flight to Tokyo Narita provides passengers with improved flight options, better airport connections and superior in-flight service. The airline will expand its operations to meet increased travel demand between Dubai and Japan by introducing additional flights and new aircraft and establishing partnerships with local airlines. The new service will revolutionise travel for business and leisure, and stopover tourists who want to visit Japan and Dubai.
