Emirates have recently launched an integrated biometric path for an absolute contactless airport experience at Dubai International Airport for passengers travelling from and through Dubai. The integrated biometric path will allow passengers to have a seamless travel journey from specific check-in to boarding gates, improved customer flow through the airport, less document checks and less queuing.
The latest biometric technology is a mix of facial and iris recognition, and will allow Emirates passengers to check in for their flight, complete immigration formalities, and enter the Emirates Lounge as well as board their flights, simply by strolling through the airport. The various touchpoints in the Biometric path allow for a hygienic contactless travel journey, and reduce human interaction while putting emphasis on health and safety.
The biometric touchpoints are currently installed at select first, business and economy class check-in desks in Terminal 3 at Dubai International. Areas where biometric equipment is installed will be clearly marked and additional units will be installed at each touchpoint in the future. With the latest innovation, Emirates also becomes the first airline outside America to receive approval for biometric boarding from the United States Customs Border Protection (CBP).
Adel Al Redha, Chief Operating Officer, Emirates said in a press statement that the airline has always focused on providing a great customer experience at any touchpoint. He shared that now it is more vital than before to make use of technology and implement products, and to introduce processes that focus not only on fast tracking customers, but more importantly on health and safety during their travel journey. He mentioned that the state-of-the-art, contactless biometric path is the latest in a series of initiatives introduced to make sure that travelling on Emirates is a seamless journey and gives customers added peace of mind.
