Emirates, Vienna,

Emirates‘ A380 returns to Vienna with 400+ passengers, marking a unique milestone at Vienna International Airport after a nearly 4-year break.

Today marks the much-anticipated return of the Emirates A380 to Vienna, resuming its journey after a hiatus of almost four years with over 400 travelers on board, destined for the Austrian capital. This event reestablishes Emirates as the sole airline to operate the colossal double-decker aircraft at Vienna International Airport, highlighting a notable chapter in the ongoing collaboration between the airline and the airport.

“We are delighted to bring our A380 back on the Vienna-Dubai route and offer our passengers the incomparable experience on board the popular aircraft. The A380 is Emirates’ flagship aircraft and a fan-favourite among passengers around the world. The return of the double-decker marks a milestone for Emirates’ operations in Austria and demonstrates the significance of our market in Emirates’ global route network,” says Elisabeth Zauner, Country Manager Emirates Austria, on the resumption of the scheduled Emirates A380 operations to Vienna.

Julian Jäger, Joint CEO of Vienna Airport, is also enthusiastic about the return of the Emirates A380: “I am delighted that the Emirates A380 is back in regular service to Vienna. The world’s largest passenger aircraft is a highlight for all travellers and a great enrichment for Vienna Airport. The associated increase in capacity is a further sign of the strengthening of connections to the Near and Middle East and is good for tourism to and from Austria.”

This monumental aircraft first graced Austria in 2014, celebrating a decade of Emirates’ operations in the country, and by 2016, it had initiated a regular A380 route from Dubai to Vienna.

The A380, known as the world’s most spacious passenger airliner and the pride of the Emirates fleet, is in operation across the airline’s extensive network, flying to sought-after locales such as Bangkok, Mauritius, Denpasar/Bali, and Sydney. Emirates’ A380s are configured with 14 First Class suites, 76 Business Class seats, and 429 Economy Class seats, totaling a seating capacity of 519. This configuration boosts seat availability by nearly 20% on the Dubai to Vienna route, facilitating greater tourist exchange and providing passengers with more travel options to Austria from Emirates’ worldwide network.

The service operates under flight number EK127, departing Dubai at 08:55 hrs and reaching Vienna at 12:25 hrs. The return flight, EK128, leaves Vienna at 15:10 hrs, arriving in Dubai at 23:40 hrs, all in local time.

Passengers flying from Vienna to Dubai are treated to the Emirates A380’s exceptional amenities. Those in First Class can indulge in the unique onboard shower spas, a feature that sets Emirates apart in the aviation industry. The Onboard Lounge, accessible to First and Business Class travelers, offers a relaxing space on the upper deck. Furthermore, all passengers will enjoy a variety of international and regional dishes, alongside Emirates’ acclaimed ice in-flight entertainment system, offering over 6,500 channels of on-demand entertainment, including Austrian programming and Hollywood films with German subtitles.
