ENVI Lodges, an innovator in luxury eco-lodging dedicated to environmental stewardship and deep nature immersion, is broadening its footprint in Africa with the acquisition of a new lodge on Arusha’s periphery in Tanzania. This move introduces the 20-suite ENVI Kili as the brand’s second foray into East Africa, following last year’s agreement to oversee the ENVI Paje eco-lodge in Zanzibar.

Set to debut in the fourth quarter of 2025, ENVI Kili is set to be a private tented retreat where luxury meets nature. The site will feature a restaurant highlighting local ingredients from the ENVI garden and nearby farms, a wellness center with nature-inspired therapies, a yoga platform, and ENVI’s distinctively casual yet upscale experiences. Moreover, a bespoke adventure concierge service will personalize each visitor’s experience.

Additional amenities will include a clubhouse with dining and entertainment options, lounge areas, and a diverse activity roster. This distinctive establishment serves as a perfect layover for travelers in Arusha en route to or from safaris, positioning the city as the entrance to Tanzania’s famed safari parks like the Serengeti National Park.

ENVI Kili emerges as a vital base for safari lovers, offering a gateway to Tanzania’s rich wildlife and stunning scenery. It complements a beach getaway in Zanzibar, where its counterpart, ENVI Paje, will soon welcome guests.

The ENVI Kili initiative benefits from a partnership with American-based Global Tourism Investments Inc and its Tanzanian subsidiary, Golf Safari Resorts & Spa, led by Niru and Chandu Patel. Their faith in and collaboration with ENVI Lodges have been crucial to the project’s realization.

“It is thrilling to partner with ENVI Lodges to debut this visionary concept in Tanzania,” said Niru Patel.
“We strongly believe that our luxury tented camp in Arusha will be the lodging of choice for discerning
safari travellers who wish to experience all the amazing Serengeti has to offer.”

Chris Nader, Co-Founder of ENVI Lodges, added: “There is substantial demand for high-quality
experiential lodging in Arusha. Our goal is to redefine the city’s traveller experience, positioning ENVI
Kili as a market leader. We are incredibly proud to join forces with the esteemed Patel family, united by
our shared commitment to forging a sustainable future for Tanzania’s hospitality sector, not only
improving Arusha for its visitors, but its residents – the visited.”

With vistas of Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru, ENVI Kili promises a tranquil and scenic stay. The location boasts top-tier golf, a polo club, and ample adventure and leisure activities. The tent design, a joint effort with Tenthouse Structures, marks ENVI’s third venture with the acclaimed architectural firm, ensuring innovative and sustainable designs that harmoniously integrate with the environment.

This tented retreat aims to leverage Tanzania’s booming tourism sector, which saw a record-breaking 1.81 million visitors in 2023, a 24.3% increase from 2022’s 1.45 million. This surge led to unprecedented tourism earnings of $3.36 billion in 2023, surpassing the pre-pandemic peak of $2.6 billion (and 1.5 million visitors) in 2019, according to Tanzanian Government data.
