Environment-friendly and ecological tourism would turn out to be lucrative for businesses while dipping carbon releases, opined experts at the meeting held in Dubai, in line with its theme for 2023, ‘Working Towards Net Zero’, at the Arabian Travel Market 2023.

Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations would be possible to achieve by 2030 along with Net Zero Target by 2050, if travel and tour operators can take advantage of capitalizing in technologies for making tourism a more sustainable sector.

At a meeting in accordance with Arabian Travel Market held recently, Dr. Miniya Chatterji, the CEO of Sustain Labs Paris, which is a flag bearer of sustainability through all industries said that maintainable tourism should not be costly and can be moneymaking in addition to being lucrative, if the initiatives are planned prudently.

Tourism is a US$2 trillion worldwide business that is projected to surpass a record high yearly universal
income of US$2.28 billion this year, even beating the total tourism segment income of US$2.2 trillion before the pandemic in 2019.

As per a recent report, sustainable tourism is a US$242.54 billion business internationally that is
increasing at a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 6.2 percent. It is expected to touch US$369.54
billion by 2029.
