Ethiopian Airlines, widely recognized as Africa’s leading carrier, has expanded its cargo network in China by launching a dedicated freight service to Macau. This development marks the airline’s 10th dedicated cargo destination in the country, underscoring its growing presence and long-term investment in the Chinese market.
The newly introduced route was officially announced on Thursday, 3 April, and is poised to play a significant role in enhancing international trade. By connecting Macau with key hubs in Africa, Europe, and beyond, the service aims to streamline cargo movement and improve supply chain efficiency across continents.
This strategic move is expected to further reinforce Ethiopia’s role as a central gateway for cargo operations between Asia and Africa. Ethiopian Airlines has already established itself as a major logistics player, offering reliable and timely freight solutions to businesses worldwide.
In a parallel development, Ethiopian Airlines has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Macau International Airport. Through this agreement, the airline becomes the first official airline partner of the Hengqin Remote Cargo Terminal, a key logistics hub intended to support the region’s growing air cargo demands.
