European Sleeper, a night train operator from Belgium and the Netherlands, is giving people the chance to invest in the company as it expands its network. Starting on a first-come, first-served basis, the company is trying to raise a minimum of €280 per investor to help add new train routes set to start in 2026. The routes are night trains from Paris to Berlin and from Brussels/Amsterdam to Milan. This should greatly improve the network of trains in Europe.
Since its founding in 2023, European Sleeper has quickly become a leader in the European night train industry. The company’s flagship “Good Night Train” service has already carried over 230,000 passengers between cities like Brussels, Amsterdam, Berlin, Dresden, and Prague. The growth of European Sleeper has been powered by the support of over 4,000 individuals, who have chosen to invest in a sustainable and community-driven model for international rail travel, instead of relying on traditional investors.

The cooperative’s latest sharefunding initiative seeks to raise €1.3 million in its first round, with an additional €1.0 million planned for later in the year. These funds will primarily support the launch of two major routes in 2026. First, the Paris–Berlin night train, which will replace existing services provided by other operators, is set to begin in March 2026, with ticket sales opening on December 16, 2025. This service will run three times a week and is a key part of European Sleeper’s strategy to strengthen cross-border connections.
In June 2026, the cooperative will introduce a new night train linking Brussels/Amsterdam with Milan. This north-south route will offer efficient overnight connections between major cities across Europe, including London, Hamburg, Zürich, Geneva, and Rome, with intermediate stops in Cologne, Bern, Brig, and Stresa. The new service aims to meet the demand for sustainable and convenient travel between major economic and cultural hubs.
European Sleeper plans to use the funds raised through share investments to expand its fleet and improve the comfort of its trains. This includes purchasing new night train coaches and making upgrades to ensure a more reliable and enjoyable travel experience for passengers. The company is also working to enhance its services by developing an in-house tour operator, GreenCityTrip, which will offer eco-friendly holiday packages by night train.
The cooperative ownership model that European Sleeper operates under sets it apart from traditional rail operators. By allowing individuals who share the company’s vision for affordable and low-impact travel to become co-owners, European Sleeper has established a unique approach to running a rail network. This community-driven model is helping to rebuild essential cross-border rail services that are crucial for sustainable travel across Europe.

With growing political momentum around low-carbon travel solutions, European Sleeper’s model is increasingly seen as a viable way to address the gaps in Europe’s night train infrastructure. The company’s success reflects the public’s desire for more sustainable mobility options and offers a clear alternative to short-haul flights, which have dominated European travel for years. The cooperative’s vision aligns with Europe’s broader goals for greener, more interconnected transportation systems.
In addition to the new Paris–Berlin and Brussels/Amsterdam–Milan services, European Sleeper is planning to expand further into other European cities. A future night train route to Barcelona is already in the works, and political support from the Dutch government is helping pave the way for this service to become a reality. The company’s long-term goal is to continue expanding its network and provide more sustainable travel options across Europe.
If you want to help support the growth of sustainable rail travel, you can invest in European Sleeper starting with as little as €280. If investors contribute €2,000 or more, they will receive a 20% discount on European Sleeper train tickets.
