European Waterways Unveils 2024/25 Brochure: 50 Years of Luxury Barge Cruising Excellence

European Waterways is delighted to announce the release of its latest luxury hotel barge cruising brochure for the upcoming 2024/25 season. The firm is introducing a new ship, Kir Royale, which will begin cruising the Champagne region of France in May 2024 as part of its 50th anniversary as a pioneer of interior waterways cruising.

Derek Banks who manages European Waterways with John Wood-Dow expressed that having grown up alongside each other on the banks of the River Thames, both John and himself discovered a mutual passion for the exceptional experiences that river life offers. He states, “We decided to share this passion with as many people as possible, taking them ‘off the beaten path’ to explore the history, culture, and gastronomic traditions of the picturesque European countryside– all while traveling in complete luxury and comfort.”

A ‘Royal’ Treat: Experience Luxury and Elegance

In the upcoming 2024 season, European Waterways welcomes the latest addition to its expanding fleet, the eight-passenger Kir Royale, which will join the hotel barge Panache in France’s Champagne region. It will sail the River Marne and Canal Lateral à la Marne from May through October, boasting significant new luxury enhancements. Guests aboard Kir Royale will enjoy exclusive tours and tastings at renowned champagne houses in the region, including Moët & Chandon, the boutique winery Frerejean Frères with a private gourmet lunch, and Maison Pannier, the largest champagne house in the Western Marne Valley.

 
A Taste of the Good Life: Indulge in Luxury

European Waterways’ new brochure showcases an array of enhanced excursions across its vessels. Guests on Anjodi and Enchanté in Canal du Midi will experience a Château de Paraza tour with wine tasting and gourmet lunch. Scottish Highlander and Spirit of Scotland guests will enjoy a whisky tasting at Ben Nevis Distillery.

In late November and December, European Waterways offers Christmas Market Cruises in France’s Alsace & Lorraine region. Guests can also visit René Lalique glassworks, enjoy a festive glass blowing experience in Meisenthal, and attend an artisanal chocolate-making demonstration at the Musée du Chocolat.

Bookings made before November 30, 2023, will receive a 10% discount on whole-boat charters onboard Kir Royale for travel in 2024 (excluding all September departures). Additionally, when booking by May 31, 2024, travelers can take advantage of 2024 cruises at 2023 prices.
