Europe’s Top Freestyle Resort LAAX Launches Exciting New Snowpark

LAAX, Europe’s premier freestyle resort in Switzerland, is set to launch an exciting new snowpark for the 2024-25 winter season. The ‘Whoop De Doo’ is designed with rolling waves, smooth troughs, and banked curves, offering the perfect playground for riders of all ages and skill levels. This entry-level slope invites beginners to test their freestyle abilities, while also giving advanced skiers and snowboarders a chance to relax and take in the stunning alpine views.

For beginners, the easy-going design makes it ideal for honing new skills. Meanwhile, seasoned riders can take it slower, enjoying the scenic landscape as they cruise through the park.

In addition to ‘Whoop De Doo’, the existing Free60 snowpark will be converted into a freeride slope. While its boxes and kick rails will remain, it will no longer be regularly maintained as a snowpark. As a result, LAAX will continue to offer five snowparks for freestyle enthusiasts.

The launch of ‘Whoop De Doo’ complements a variety of exciting winter offerings at LAAX, including an opportunity to meet the mountain rescue dogs and warm up at the newly expanded Freeride Base Nagens, opening 21 December. Once a small café offering snacks and coffee, the expanded Freeride Base now features a focus on hearty vegetarian options like fresh salads and soups, alongside light bites, sweet treats, and coffee.

Starting 21 December, the Segneshütte will also undergo a transformation, shifting from a semi-service concept to a full-service area. The renovations will create a warm, modern atmosphere, with a menu spotlighting traditional Swiss and regional dishes.

LAAX’s Freestyle Academy is set to reopen after a two-year renovation, offering new features such as a five-square trampoline with 360-degree cameras, a larger skate bowl, an expanded parkour zone complete with a jumping tower and airbag, plus a new café and Vans store. The KIDS Freestyle Academy, launched in 2023, also continues to offer young riders (ages 0-8) the chance to practice their first jumps and tricks.
