American Airlines recently revamped its boarding process by introducing a new group to its pre-boarding section for customers.
Starting May 1st, American Airlines will introduce a new change to its boarding process, following its recent announcement of free Wi-Fi for passengers.
On May 1, American Airlines will launch its updated pre-boarding process, giving priority to First and Business Class passengers, travelers requiring extra time, individuals using wheelchairs, and families with children aged two or younger, according to Travel Market Report.
First and Business Class passengers will now join the pre-boarding group, becoming the first to board the aircraft. Along with travelers needing extra time, American Airlines will also include its ConciergeKey members in this early boarding category.
American Airlines will extend its boarding process by an additional five minutes, aiming to create a smoother, less rushed experience for travelers. The airline hopes the extra time will lead to a better-paced boarding flow and improved management of overhead bin space.
American Airlines revealed plans for the extra five minutes earlier this year, with the change scheduled to take effect on May 1.
