AIDA guests love bike tours, whether it’s cruising around the Easter Islands or exploring Rome’s ancient streets on an e-bike. Building on the success of their partnership with my Boo since fall 2019, AIDA Cruises is expanding their offerings by adding 1092 bamboo bikes from the Kiel-based bicycle manufacturer to their fleet this year. It all began with AIDAnova, and on April 6, 2024, the biking crew in Hamburg welcomed 126 new cross bikes and e-bikes. As part of their ongoing upgrades, all other ships in the AIDA fleet will gradually receive bikes from my Boo, ranging from 84 to 126 e-bikes and cross bikes depending on the ship’s class during regular changeovers.

AIDA offers cycling tours in 241 ports across 93 countries: From Antigua to Cyprus, from Aarhus to Zeebrugge, AIDA guests can explore diverse landscapes and beautiful cities globally using bikes and e-bikes. Opting for bicycles as a green transport mode during shore excursions helps AIDA guests actively reduce their personal CO2 emissions.
Additionally, guests ride bamboo bikes for a charitable cause: Kiel-based company my Boo supports social projects in Ghana with the profits. By selling these bikes, the company funds and operates its school, currently educating over 500 students while also creating stable, fairly compensated jobs. More than 30 young individuals have gained permanent employment with promising futures thanks to this initiative.
