The Florida State Parks Foundation observes the second anniversary of the “Explore Our State Parks” specialty license plate. Back in 2022, it debuted on March 28th.
Two years at disposal, the “Explore Our State Parks” plate has been an unqualified success and by now has assisted to make a wide diversity in terms of development projects and visitor facilities at parks all over the state.
The plate, planned by Steve Leacock, a Tallahassee-based artist, has at present sold over 12,000 units and in Florida, positions 49th among 150 specialty plates and has generated over $500,000 to bring profit to the award-winning state parks in Florida.
To the Florida State Parks Foundation, the authorized nonprofit support society for Florida State Parks, around $25 is donated for each plate sold out.
Kathleen Brennan, board president of the Florida State Parks Foundation, said that the first year was just great for the ‘Explore Our State Parks’ specialty license plate and she also considers that year two has been even improved. Because not only have they seen more plates on state vehicles but they also started to witness some truly remarkable effect that were likely because of the plate. The plate came to completion, cheers to a bill co-sponsored by Representative Allison Tant and Senator Dennis Baxley.
